Registered Massage Practitioner
Melanie is a Registered Massage Practitioner with 3 years experience practicing massage therapy. Melanie recognizes that we are all unique and each carry our entire life's experiences with us wherever we go. So “meeting the client where they are” and honoring their journey first is the foundation of her practice.
Our life experiences, how we perceive the world around us and even how we perceive ourselves is translated not only emotionally in our personality and our actions, but also physically and energetically in our bodies as well. This physical memory, or “Body Memory,” is our body's process of storing both traumatic and positive life experiences, in which we create palpable, protective holding patterns; within our musculature, throughout the connective tissue in our body (the binding tissue matrix that wraps and connects every part of our body), and even within our chi (or energy). Structurally, these holding or “freezing” patterns can result in postural imbalances like; forward head, rolled or elevated shoulders, increased lumbar lordosis, unbalanced and/or rotated hips or shoulder joints, etc. Melanie treats symptoms of these imbalances (muscular pain and stiffness, range of motion issues, tension, fatigue, stress & anxiety) and helps to promote improved physical, emotional, and energetic wellness.
In addition to seeing clients at her Healing Circles Wellness Center studio, Melanie also offers seated chair massage at community, corporate and sporting events, holiday parties, women's clubs, assisted living communities, fundraisers and more!
